Beveled rings for bores have the same characteristics as the Seeger rings to DIN 472, but offer the additional advantage of rigidly compensating for axial tolerances. This Seeger ring acts like a wedge between the slanted load side of an angled groove wall and the mating part being secured. By means of its radial spring force, the ring expands into the groove to such a depth as to compensate for any play in the mating part.
