Comment:
The values given in the data charts for thickness s apply to phosphated, blackened or self-finish rings. In the event of different surface coatings being chosen, these dimensions will be increased by the corresponding coating thickness.

Retaining force H:
The values given in the data charts specify the maximum retaining forces (without safety factor). They apply to a shaft or housing material with a maximum strength of 650 N/mm2 and a surface resulting from turning and using spring steel stock. Retaining forces are reduced when using ground, hardened or galvanically treated surfaces (lubrication effect). This also applies to galvanically treated self-locking Seeger rings. When using rings manufactured from bronze CuSn8, the retaining force is also reduced corresponding to this material's lower modulus of elasticity.
